Changing Corporate Culture:

CityHouse 5K and Providing Care for Single Mothers

Genetics Institute of America (GIA) takes pride in the community we are a part of and has created a corporate culture that aims to play a greater role in community solutions. Local communities are suffering and, without support from their businesses, will continue to decline and waste away in paralyzing cycles of homelessness, childhood trauma and hunger. Genetics Institute of America refuses to stand by. We are convinced that by putting in the work, we help contribute to the revitalization of our local community, specifically within initiatives that focus on the individuals and families we serve. This series will delve into the philanthropic efforts of Genetics Institute and how we strive to change lives every single day.

DELRAY BEACH, FLSince being established in 2014, CityHouse of Delray Beach, Florida provides long-term, transformational assistance to mothers and their children. They help single mothers in need have better opportunities to develop healthy lifestyles, which enables them to provide sustainable, loving and proper care for their children. CityHouse is a two to three-year program that offers safe and affordable housing, wrap-around services, daily mentoring, educational opportunities, mental health services, and skill-building opportunities. They focus on empowering mothers to live healthier lives through education, community, and career development by offering a holistic approach to each family’s multifaceted needs. CityHouse’s program is designed to instill life-changing skills, values, and character into the women they serve.

CityHouse and Genetics Institute of America are devoted to standing for those in our community that need our help, especially single mothers and their children. One of Genetics Institute’s main pillars is caring, not only for one’s genetic health, but for the wellness of the whole person, including their ability to care for themselves and their families. To take another needed step towards achieving the goal of generational wellness, Genetics Institute of America was an event sponsor for the CityHouse 5K River Run: Run for a Reason on January 21st to support CityHouse and their mission. This event was a vital fundraising opportunity for this philanthropic organization whose mission is dependent on the generosity of the community they serve. By neing an event sponsor, Genetics Institute of America joined in to help CityHouse keep widening their reach.
